Review
from allmusic.com- by Steven MasonNorwegian/Irish duo Secret Garden have been the toast of the neo-classical audience ever since winning the 1995 Eurovision Song Contest. High-profile collaborations with Barbra Streisand on her 1998 hit "I've Dreamed of You" and Josh Groban on the inescapable pop ballad "You Raise Me Up" have raised their profile with an adult contemporary audience as well, and so Inside I'm Singing is a combination anniversary project and entrée into that wider and potentially even more lucrative market. Originally conceived as a tenth anniversary self-tribute album but a couple years too long in the making, Inside I'm Singing consists of 11 instrumental hits by the duo of pianist and composer Rolf Løvland and violinist Fionnuala Sherry given new lyrics. Or, in the cases of "I've Dreamed of You" and "You Raise Me Up," keeping the previous ones; indeed, the former is simply Streisand's 1998 recording slightly remixed. Van Morrison protégé Brian Kennedy does the honors on "You Raise Me Up," doing about as good a job as anyone can do with that particularly mawkish and manipulative tune. Other guest singers include Broadway legend Elaine Paige, whose "The Things You Are to Me" is the set's emotional and musical highlight; Irish ballad singer Niamh Cavanagh, who turns in a simple, understated, and lovely take on the minimal, torchy "Simply You"; and nine other singers better known to fans of European cabarets. Add in two pleasant new instrumentals, Sherry's violin showcase "Sortie," and the soundtrack-like multiple keyboard extravaganza "Theme from the Mermaid Chair," and Inside I'm Singing is perfect for both longtime Secret Garden fans and the sort of folks who make a point to watch Celtic Woman every time they come on PBS.
Our thoughts of this album
Written by Nhung Candy
Inside I'm singing is a gift of heavenly music
We think every true band has an album which breaks their ordinary style and reaches different musical ideas.Even many listeners don't accept the fact that the duo want to change their style , this album is still an unique mark.Unlike any previous album, this album has only 2 instrumental songs ( Theme of The Mermaird Chair and Sortie). Both of them are as melodic as ever and capture the original ideas: Melody tells stories. Other songs are from previous album with new lyrics and arrangements ( except for My land, Thank you, Did I not love you and Song for a stormy night).
This album is the most romantic one with beautiful touching lyrics ( best for using in weddings!)

Did I not Love you
Before this life time
Did you not hear
My music in your soul
Did I not need you
Beyond forever
And now I'll leave you
Not forever more
The widest ocean
I have crossed over
No boat did I row
But love to carry me
I have been ever in constant motion
I have been finding you eternally
And I've been traveling
Throughout the ages
Down through the pages
Of history
Just for this moment
This timeless moment
This wondrous moment
Of you and me
- Did I not love you
If I held in my hand,
Every grain of sand
Since time first began to me
Still I could never count,
Measure the amount;
Of all the things you are to me
If I paint the sky,
Hang it up to dry
I would want the sky to be
Oh, such a grand design
An everlasting sign
Of all the things you are to me
You are the sun that comes on summer winds
You are the falling year that autumn brings
You are the wonder and the mystery
In everything I see… the things you are to me
- The things you are to me
Inside I'm singing also reaches important message :Loving and protecting the ones we love, being grateful, giving care and thoughts to them
If I lived to be a thousand years,
If I ruled the word - it's hemispheres,
I could not repay the love you brought my way,
So, I want to say it now
To thank you for each day you gave me.
Thank you for the Mondays,
Saturdays and Sundays,
Everyday, the whole year through;
Thank you for the fun days,
All those number-one days,
Battles-to-be-won days, too;
I just want to say it,
Thank you for each day with…you.- Thank you
The rain beats hard at my window
While you, so softly do sleep
And you can’t hear the cold wind blow
You are sleeping so deep
Outside it's dark, the moon hiding
By starlight only I see
The host of the night-time go riding
But you are safe here with me
So, while the world out there is sleeping
And everyone wrapped up so tight
Oh, I am here a vigil keeping
On this stormy night
I promised I always would love you
If skies would be gray or be blue
I whisper this prayer now above you
That there will always be you- Song for a stormy night
Being proud of where we belong ( My land)
How green are your valleys
How blue your great skies
Your mountains stand tall in their glory
Your rivers run free
The bright stars are your eyes
Your beauty is endless before me
For you are the song ever singing in me
And you are the heart ever true
For you are my land
And you always will be
The voice ever calling me home to you
When to your green valleys
Some day I return
When you lay your mantle around me
At rest I will be
Where the heart will not yearn
Then my land will ever surround me
This album is a thank from the duo to the listeners and artists who support their musical journey for 13 years
